UlsterWay–8

Ardglass to Strangford via Ballyhoran - 11th August 2026

Weather was lovely again today. 16 - 20 degrees and sunny, with an on-shore breeze most of the time.

Quite a bit of tarmac at the end and a little at the start so, once more I kept to the coast where possible even thought it added to the mileage.

Another lovely day, though I regretted adding the extra miles a little. The Ulster Way now avoids the very dangerous Shore Road and moves inland a bit on back roads at Kilclief bringing you out on the main road into Strangford a half mile or so from town. A better solution all round, I say.

Just a note on Bishop's Court Airdrome. This had been purchased by Ryanair and is set to be their hub in Northern Ireland. 27 routes are planned for 2029 but transport to Belfast?
