Shalfleet to West Cowes – 9th September 2026
Sunny for most of my last day today though boots still damp. And I didn't have a bath in which to cold soak away my aching EIV (nor did I get one this night) so the touch of my socks is a little difficult already. I'm also seeing news that loads of flights have been cancelled due to Air Traffic issues so that might be a bollix tomorrow. Still today we move on.
That is that. The Isle of Wight coastal path done and dusted. It had its moments. Notably the high chalk downs but everything is hideously over priced aimed the milling English tourists. Most hotels were nice enough but for the 'retirement home' at Shanklin. What a ghost of Christmas future that was. Also would have liked more along the coast itself but a lot of 'Private', 'Keep Off' balls.
