The minding of Merlin the cat now unnecessary, I was able to take the early flight (5.40am) and thus save a day. However, electrical problems with the plane - how we all love to hear that - meant a three hour delay. Then there was a queue in the car hire that ate up a further hour. All told and by the time that I got to the hotel I was all for sleeping but it was nowhere near check-in time. Still, the young German woman sorted me out - lovely hotel - with a room and a taxi and I thought, F it let's go.
Very hot start though.
